After School Respite

The Harris Hands Afterschool Respite Program is offered on weekdays between 2PM and 6 PM during the school year (including summer school) for school-aged children with developmental disabilities, as well as half-days. This program will provide a snack, socialization and homework help for participants. Transportation will be provided to the participants home after the program has ended.

To be eligible, the individual must be:
  • Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) eligible
  • Have Medicaid and a Care Coordinator
  • Live in the Metro NY area
  • Be waivered (HCBS) or be eligible to be waivered
  • School age
  • An individual that resides in the community (not residential)
